Half Day Tour Cape Sounion
Driving alοng the souther coast road we pass by posh suburbs, yacht clubs waterfront taverns. We visit a lake formed after a sinkage of rocks. On a clear day we can see at least 5 islands and rocks in the Saronic gulf.
After an hour we arrive to the southernmost point of mainland Greece Cape Sounion. We visit the 5th century B.C. Doric temple of Poseidon that is overlooking the Aegean Sea.
Many people have engraved their names in the marble pillars like Lord Byron did in the 17th century. Homer called it "sacred cape". The father of Theseus Aegeas leaped to his death from here giving his name to the sea.
Many clients have stayed on the hill watching the sun "sink" into the sea and others have enjoyed a swim and a seafood snack next to the water.
